Judith Schaffman’s 70th Crone Ritual
“As I approached my 70 birthday, I felt strongly that the day needed to be commemorated in a special way. In much welcomed conversation with Therese, whom I knew to have rich experience creating ceremony, I shared what elements of a 70th January birthday ceremony would be important and meaningful to me. They included simplicity, chanting and nature!
Therese wove together what was an utterly perfect experience for me. First, she learned and shared one of my favorite chants to the Goddess. After chanting, we took our deep silence into the woods and the rivers edge on Therese’s beautiful property. Amidst trees covered with snow, and a flowing icy stream, we giggled as we tossed beautiful red roses into the rapidly moving waters. I can still see those roses floating downstream - and at the time- I had the experience that I WAS a red rose on the snow of my 70th January birthday.

Memorial Zoom Ceremony

She is the person you need for support, planning, and officiating.
For our mother’s memorial this spring, Therese’s contribution was perfect. At a moment when our minds were blank with grief, she generously accompanied us through our emotions, encouraging us to take time for self-care and remembrance. She gently prompted us to recall our mother’s qualities, her impact on our lives, her accomplishments, the core values she taught us, lessons learned about love, quotes, stories, laughter, joy, and inspiration. These preparation sessions helped my sister and myself compose words of comfort to share with our loved ones. Therese drew from a wealth of texts and poems from all spiritual traditions to round out the program and provide brief readings for those who did not wish to prepare their own eulogies. She’s a very good listener and brainstormed with us about the slide show we wanted to create.
The result was a beautiful tribute that brought together 30-40 people in the US and France via Zoom and was then viewed by those who could not attend that day. It was personal and warm and very healing, which I would never have expected of a remote event. I’m sure that Therese’s in person hosting is even more lovely. We received many compliments and messages of thanks.””
AMOS AND SABRINA’S WEDDING
“It was clear to us from the moment that we decided to join our hearts in marriage that Therese would be whom we asked to officiate our Sacred Union. We are both Hebrew through birth and religion and Spiritual by nature. We knew that we wanted a ceremony that honored Mother Earth, ancestral traditions and the Natural elements while paying respects to the beliefs of our people and YHWH.
Therese showed up fully for us within a week’s notice, meeting with us on the phone in a connection ceremony that grounded our intentions for our Sacred Union ceremony as well as the years moving forward.
The ceremony she co-created with our Rabbi contained the mystic aspects of the Divine, Indigenous tradition from the native people of our lands and personalized sentiments from her observations about our relationship in the time she had known us.
Our families were honored and we felt the authenticity of her connection with Spirit as she officiated. It was truly a divine blessing for us to have this memory to last our lifetime together and share with our future children.””
Seth’s Untimely Transition
“Therese deeply understands movements of the heart, soul, and spirit. After my sons sudden death, her gentle intuitively informed support, guidance, And initiative helped us navigate the shockwaves of grief and trauma coursing through us in the immediate aftermath. Nearly a year later Therese helped us beautifully choreograph and facilitate a memorial service for him. Once again, my unexpected need for her assistance was met with an artful resourcefulness that seemed to flow effortlessly from her.
She offered us a wide choice of readings just perfect to include in the service we wanted to have on that day. I am deeply grateful to have turned over the leadership role to Therese for Seth’s memorial. Her warmth and sensitivity to the depth of emotion brought forth by a ceremony of this kind were priceless gifts to help us accomplish the tribute we desired in dedicate his memorial garden. “”

“When I decided that I wanted a birthday celebration that was different than anything I had ever done before, my first thought was to contact Therese Bimka.
Though I didn’t have any of the details yet of what I wanted I intuitively knew that Therese was the right person to help me create a personalized, special and memorable event and that’s exactly what happened.
With Therese’s loving guidance and and hands on support I was able to both experience and co-create a deeply, meaningful birthday celebration. What stands out the most is Therese’s creative spirit and nature. She is a generous and deeply caring person who does this work because she loves it. Though the process was complex in some of its details Therese’s spiritual nature, kindness and infectious enthusiasm was the perfect combination. She also helped me learn to let go and trust in the process.
